Toyota made seven of the 10 top-selling car models in Japan in April - JADA

Toyota Motor Corp strengthened its hold on the new car market in Japan in April by making seven of the top selling models that month, up from five the previous month, figures released by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JADA) show.

Nissan Motor Co made two of the 10 top-selling models, down from four the previous two months.Nissan, Japan 's second-largest carmaker, released half a dozen new models over the six months to January, in a product blitz aimed at reviving drooping sales in its home market.

Honda Motor Co made one of the 10 top-selling models last month, as its Fit subcompact remained the third best-selling model with 8,891 sold.

Toyota, which makes more than four of every 10 new cars sold in Japan, made 18 of the 30 top-selling models here last month, the JADA data shows.
